Public bug reported:
I am testing Lucid using VirtualBox on a machine with a lot of RAM (8
GB). Rebooting is very fast (about 10 seconds).
I have configured auto-login. At the first login, the Gnome desktop
looks ugly, because gnome-setting-daemon dies. If I log out and log in
(now manually), everything works fine. I can also manually start gnome-
setting-daemon. I have this problem only with VirtualBox, not with real
hardware. Is it possible, that my startup/boot process in a VirtualBox
machine is perhaps too fast for the gnome-settings-daemon? (i.e. gnome-
settings-daemon is started before some other processes have ended etc.?)
