Since the last generic kernel in Karmic-Updates (2.6.31-20-57) everythings seems to go fine...
On changelog are some USB-related changes, but i can't determine which is the answer. Debian-testing, kernel 2.6.32, has the same problem. chipset USB: AMD SB600 some ports with USB 1.1 devices connected had ohci loaded, and the port with WDPassport HDD loads ehci without any error. Large transfers ok, without resets I hadn't any "trick" of above, I made a new instalation.
