apport information ** Description changed:
Binary package hint: oem-config Performed an OEM install of Xubuntu amd64 on a VirtualBox VM. Install was successful, and after reboot, system was running. I ran the OEM-Config button on the desktop and got the message that said "oem-config will run on the next reboot". Rebooted the system. Instead of getting the configuration I got a plain brown background and a mouse pointer. I hit the Enter key, and X crashed, and there was a barely readable Python stack trace dumped to the screen that said something about OS Error, File Not Found when running ubiquity-dm. So either X is not working (though it DID work fine until I tried running oem-config) or oem-config is causing X to crash somehow. --- Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Alpha amd64 (20100308) Package: oem-config 2.1.32 PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-15.22-generic Tags: lucid Uname: Linux 2.6.32-15-generic x86_64 UserGroups: + + + --- + Architecture: i386 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 + InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Alpha i386 (20100308) + Package: oem-config 2.1.32 + PackageArchitecture: all + ProcEnviron: + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-15.22-generic + Tags: lucid + Uname: Linux 2.6.32-15-generic i686 + UserGroups: ** Attachment added: "Casper.gz" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/40805887/Casper.gz -- [Lucid A3] oem-config in Xubuntu 64bit OEM install causes X crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/537125 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
