Following instructions for a GDB backtrace I obtained this result. The lockup occurred when shutting down evolution while a new email composition was in progress.
This was a second attempt at trying to reproduce the problem while running evolution under control of GDB. Although this crash is not exactly what I was trying to capture (send/receive lockup while composing an email message) evolution did crash while trying to shutdown the program. I have also noted a problem with Evolution locking up during startup immediately after launching from the control panel. In this case, there are no emails from the Inbox displayed and instead there is a blank white surface where the emails are normally displayed and then Evolution fades to gray scale and never responds. Termination of the program is required to recover and a new instance must be launched from the control panel. I have discussed this problem with a friend and the exact same problem is occurring on the 32-bit distribution of the latest Ubuntu with Evolution (lockup during send/receive while composing an email). I will continue trying to capture the backtrace with GDB for the exact issue reported and will post if I have any success. ** Attachment added: "backtrace 2 - lockup during shutdown" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/40850427/gdb-evolution-lockup2.txt -- Evolution occasionally locks up during send/receive email causing draft emails in editor to lock up as well https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/531130 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
