any chance to get a backtrace? please run gnome-panel as:
gdb gnome-panel
(gdb) break gdk_x_error
(gdb) run --sync
reproduce the crash and:
(gdb) thread apply all bt full
save that backtrace and attach it to the report. thanks!.
