You say:

Could you describe this more fully? Are you doing this from kcontrol?
What exactly happens? Do you get the 'key conflict' dialog? ("The
'Win+k' key combination has already been allocated to the [something]
action. Do you want to reassign it from that action to the current
one?")
Could you also tell us which version of ubuntu you're using?
