Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: libnss-ldap
and end of configuring libnss-ldap, nscd is restarted via the init script.
Problems with the init script include
1. using --invalidate flag without specifying a table
2. not attempting to top the service before attempting to start the service
resulting in a failure because the service is already running and pid file
remains.
using edgy 6.10 alternate cd stock install (not updated)
