Now that libjack is in main, time to discuss the original problem.
QjackCtl has a ubuntu-written wrapper script that suspends Pulseaudio upon
qjackctl start. The workaround is to avoid the qjackctl wrapper script by
calling "qjackctl.bin" instead of "qjackctl". While this is nice in some
scenarios, it is an annoyance in others, such as ttoine's.
Pulseaudio has a reserve API to coexist with jack, but I'm not sure if
that reserve API is implemented in current jack. If it is, keeping the
wrapper script makes no sense anymore.
