I am not sure "Invalid" is the right new status, more that no-one is using Jaunty any more ?
I got freezes with Jaunty, though not as badly as others. I found Karmic only rarely froze up -- but it did occasionally, usually just at the most crucial moment of a presentation. For reasons to do with required versions for some software, I have had to move early to Lucid, hopefully it will freeze less than Karmic. I guess this is actually a Linux issue not an Ubuntu issue.
