Musics provides with the .mid format are not correctly opened with Totem, which fail to plays them. However, the downloaded file can by played with rhythmbox. For instance, click on the links of this site: http://www.noivasonline.com/musicas_para_cerimonia.htm The error message is: /tmp/canon_pachelbel-2.mid could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences.
