It should have nothing to do with it. That is also what i would think. But it is not what i observed. This observation was made on three different computers with very different hardware standing in different houses, all with either a live cd or a fresh installation of ubuntu, and also with live cds of etch and damnsmalllinux on my pc, so my way of configuring things does not play a role either. Very old versions of SuSE and Mandrake, that i have, have no problem. The other linuxes can connect only if i give them dhcpcd. I have no explanation for this only the observation.
