Since you have reported this bug, I have committed several changes and fixes .
Could you please test with the latest release (0.5.1) or with the br
branch linked above if this issue is still reproducable for you?
The fixes I have added should prevent packages from being removed when
they are still needed.
However, as you mentioned the packages ubuntu-desktop, firefox-gnome-
support and ubufox and *none* of them are handled by language-selector,
my guess is that some other application or a system upgrade must have
marked them as to be removed. Language-selector, when calling synaptic
to remove obsolete translation packages, then just executed that task.
