Yes It is still an issue , with slight changes

  Bug description:

General BUG Description: Suspend works, resumes but screen always remains black
with no cursor
Hibernation always throws acpi errors; sometimes, after repeated
tries to turn off HDD, it succeeds
Other times, hibernate can't turn off HDD and cut power completely
to screen, so I keep pressing the power
button until shutdown. After, if I press the power button, it
resumes normally.

Laptop : Toshiba Tecra M9
OS : Karmic Koala x86
Graphics card : Nvidia Quadro NVS 130M
                Vbios :60.86.49.00.26
                Driver version: 185.18.36

Information Gathering:

Did the machine break while going to sleep or waking up?

1.Machine always suspends normally
2.Machine is never able to restore the screen on wake-up (screen is blank, and
no cursor)
3.Machine hibernates abnormally:
3.1.It always throws acpi -unable to dock errors and tries to turn off
HDD a couple of times(3-4)before it succeeds.
3.2.Sometimes(3-4 out of 10) hibernate cannot turn off HDD and power
completely off the screen
4.Machine always resumes normally from hibernation

Is it reproducible?

Yes. Mentioned above

Did it work before?

Never.(1st distro was 8.04 LTS)

Do you end up with flashing caps-lock or similar?

No.

Hibernate specific information --please see attached 1,2 and 3.txt
files

dmesg
cat /proc/cmdline
cat /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume

Other information

Ran the suspend.sh --nothing happened
Ran the hibernate.sh -- hibernated with the same problems
Ran the stress tests -- hibernation and suspend worked (with the same mentioned
problems) on battery, on Ac power didn't work

Suspending from text mode

sudo pm-suspend --suspended the machine

DebuggingKernelSuspend

"resume-trace" debugging procedure for finding buggy drivers

sudo sh -c "sync; echo 1 > /sys/power/pm_trace; pm-suspend"

After the above, black screen tried to fix filesystem errors on my linux
partition I checked yes and rebooted

dmesg > dmesg.txt --see attached dmesg.txt file

Hibernating from text mode

sudo pm-hibernate--Did not turn off HDD, cursor kept blinking on a black
screen

Per sub-system hibernate testing

running the commands :

sudo -i

# lsmod > lsmod.output.txt

# echo devices > /sys/power/pm_test
# echo platform > /sys/power/disk
# echo disk > /sys/power/state
# dmesg > /tmp/dmesg-devices-platform.txt

# echo core > /sys/power/pm_test
# echo platform > /sys/power/disk
# echo disk > /sys/power/state
# dmesg > /tmp/dmesg-core-platform.txt

# echo core > /sys/power/pm_test
# echo reboot > /sys/power/disk
# echo disk > /sys/power/state
# dmesg > /tmp/dmesg-core-reboot.txt

did not produce any lsmod file
for other files , see atached files

HOPE THIS HELPS.
THANK YOU !
