Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Steps to reproduce the bug:
-- open a "compose message" window and set the cursor in the address field
without typing anything
-- wait until the screen saver becomes active
-- move mouse to deactivate screen saver
-- try typing the first letter of an address

bug description:
instead of proposing a list of addresses from the address book, the address
which should be on top of the proposal list is immediately entered.

If one minimizes the window and then remaximizes it, the regular
behavior is restored.

I suspect a connection to a firefox bug reported here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.5/+bug/438868 ,
since I experience both bugs and the their pathology is very similar.
