Did a fresh install with the -14 kernel (I think Alpha3, but may have done updates before when I was testing), then did dist-upgrade. It's working. I'm still curious about this issue, but don't have time to figure out what caused it.
I tried installing the .33 kernel from the mainline .deb and that fixed nothing. There seemed to be something flaky with crypt_setup as I was never getting prompted for a password, except with the older kernels. It went from bad to worse in the process of trying to fix it (I think the -10 kernel was the only one working at the end), but I did a hard disk check and it passed, so *shrugs shoulders*. -- -14, -15 and -16 kernels do not boot on HP Compaq nc6400 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/535261 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
