Maybe some bad news on this one. The new vesa driver (1.3) will probably not fix the problem.
The fedora guys already have 1.3 and the problem is still there. From what I can tell, the problem comes from changes in the xserver that went into 7.2. http://fcp.surfsite.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=34445&viewmode=flat&order=ASC&start=0 The fedora guys fixed the problem by adding the attached hack to the vesa driver.
