I'm pretty much a beginner in Ubuntu, so can you be more specific on the 
'comment or remove them' part?
As for the alternative, where should I put the 'user' and 'noauto' ?
It's a minor issue, I agree...
but it's just a bit annoying that I have to 'sudo mount' everytime I need my 
external...

As far as I can recall, I didn't plug the ext drive while installing Ubuntu(if 
this is what you mean).
But, can it really cause the issue? this problem just starts a week or so. 
before, it's all working fine. no need for 'sudo mount'.
