Ajenbo, Insofar as my current installation, I haven't added any drivers beyond those Ubuntu installs by default. I tried several earlier, but haven't attempted to reinstall them since they either failed entirely or provided no improvement. The ATI CD contains only MS Windows drivers.
It's been awhile since I've heard anything back on this issue, so currently I'm using two computers which share the same monitor and just toggle back and forth thus allowing me to use MS Windows for extended browsing, etc., use. However, one thing I haven't previously mentioned is that when I attempt to change the default 1280x1024 (5:4) configuration to the preferred 1024x768 (4:3) resolution, the failure appears skewed like older TV's when your Vertical / Horizontal settings are out of sync. That is, although not readable, what appears on the screen is not total gibberish, but rather appears to be organized but skewed suggesting that perhaps the issue is more a one of the 5:4 ratio not properly converting to the default 1024x768 4:3 ratio; suggesting a need for 1024x768 (5:4) resolution to work properly. Phil -- CRT monitor stuck at 60Hz and can't change it. Display say refresh rate 0Hz. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363112 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
