The bug still seems to be present. While I couldn't test with the same exact version of SL, as it wouldn't let me log on with the old version, testing with the latest version caused X to lockup, and not restart as it did before. Additionally, it seemed to take longer to lockup, as I did get a second or so worth of rendering out of SL before it did so. While in normal circumstances I'd say this sounds like a cooling problem, the fact I've done far more GPU-intensive stuff on this chip with no repercussion indicates otherwise. The system remained responsive over the network while Xorg remained locked up, and thus I was able to get dmesg dumps and restart cleanly.
