What version of the Lucid LiveCD did you try? From your logs it looks
like you were trying the Alpha 3 livecd, which had this problem and is
now fixed.
If you were trying the Alpha 3 livecd, it would be great if you could
try either a recent daily LiveCD or the Beta 1 livecd, which should be
released shortly.
