I have a similar setup and same symptoms as above with 9.10. Not sure when it began but it was ok a couple of weeks ago. I generally run updates when they're suggested but don't recall if I did the last time I used Ubuntu. Dell model is 640m (laptop).
Having trouble seeing Ubuntu as a viable alternative OS when I have issues like this and with unsupported or poorly supported hardware like printers (Lexmark), monitors (Samsung where Ubuntu massively under- utilised the available resolution compared with windows), etc. Perhaps Ubuntu's not trying to be mainstream but, if it is, it's got a long way to go. Certainly not bad for something nobody gets paid for but, who wants to have to keep a spare operating system e.g. windows to use for troubleshooting issues with the bleeding edge of open-source? -- new kernel will not boot after auto update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/537131 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
