Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unattended-upgrades

This is a whishlist item that would simplify the release upgrade process
a bit.

If I have modified the file /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades to
specify my email address under Unattended-Upgrade::Mail on each release
upgrade I will be prompted to know if I want to use my old file or the
one provided by the maintainer.

Since this file also contains Unattended-Upgrade::Allowed-Origins which
is release specific, it is not a good idea to reply no to this question,
but this means that I'll need to go put back my email into it later on.

A possible way around that would be to separate user modifiable settings
from the release specific settings in this file.

** Affects: unattended-upgrades (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
