Public bug reported: When certain models of Western Digital external drives are plugged in at bootup, they cause the computer to occasionally hang at "connect- debounce failed, port x disabled"
my thinking is that the correct kernel modules are not loaded before the kernel attempts to access the drive. at any rate, having a connection problem with an external drive should not hinder/hang the boot process. >From : http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9001082 Running Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) with 2.6.31-20-generic kernel ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- External Drive Causing Boot Hang https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/543085 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
