Do you still have this issue ?
Did you already try to use the 3 IP adresses:
$ host mailfilter.fastnet.co.uk
mailfilter.fastnet.co.uk has address 212.42.162.153
mailfilter.fastnet.co.uk has address 212.42.162.154
mailfilter.fastnet.co.uk has address 212.42.162.156
It can be that 1 of the 3 is not working, and that could be the reason it fails.
