Different Ubuntu versions have different protocol versions in PA, so you'll need to reproduce this in a matching configuring (Jaunty <-> Jaunty, Karmic <-> Karmic, Lucid <-> Lucid). Please report whether this symptom is reproducible in Lucid Beta 1.
