Steps to reproduce in python: ------ Python 2.6.5 (r265:79063, Mar 20 2010, 14:40:09) [GCC 4.4.3] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import visual Segmentation fault (core dumped) ------ dmesg output: [ 1815.676221] python[1591]: segfault at 18 ip 00007ff1fe4f17b4 sp 00007ffff8f92270 error 6 in libstdc++.so.6.0.13[7ff1fe428000+f6000] This was tested in a kvm-qemu vm running Ubuntu 10.04 beta-1 64bit It also occurred on the host machine running 9.10 64bit The original problem was noted on the forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1326593 This issue seems different from the other bugs posted because the segfault occurs during the import process while other bugs show it occurring after calling a function or method.
