Ryan, It sounds like you have a different bug. Can you please run the installer in debug mode (`ubiquity -d` from a terminal window) until it hangs or crashes. Then press alt-f2 followed by `ubuntu-bug ubiquity` and enter.
This will file a new bug report and attach all of the logs that we need to debug it.
