Some suggestions from Fabbione: I have a similar oops (originally bug 90962) on a 965P core duo desktop
i tried -9 with nosmp noreplacement. it doesn't oops, but it does say ata1.00: qc timeout (cmd 0xef) failed to set xfermode (err_mask=0x4) limiting speed to PIO0 failed to recover some devices, retrying in 5 seconds and so on for ata1, 2, 3, 4, 5 And then it puts me into a busybox shell. It's possible that's because something is broken in my raid1 root partition unrelated to this bug. -- Oops while booting herd5 livecd https://launchpad.net/bugs/90689 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
