The simple answer is to use icon view or compact view to navigate to the
desired folder, then a simple Ctrl+2 will show you the detailed view.
Another very easy Ctrl+1 or Ctrl+3 puts you back in icon view or compact
view to navigate again. That adds four keystrokes, if I count both Ctrl
and the number you hit. That does not really make it a showstopper.

In thunar, in "detailed view" mode, if you enter a subrepertory by using the
mouse, once inside you cannot select files, or subfiles to go deeper in the
repertories. Neither right- click nor left-click are available. However, if you
entered using the keyboard everything works.
Once the bug happens, there is no way to interact with the contents of the
repertory through the window. You have to close the window to open a new one
