Things are getting worse. Most of the time, though not everytime, I
don't even get a panel. Which means I need to do :

Alt+F2 xterm
ps -me | grep panel
kill panel_PID_#
Alt+F2 xfce4-panel
Alt+F2 xfwm4

Still don't see anything relevant in .xsession-errors apart from :

/usr/bin/startxfce4: X server already running on display :0

** Message: To replace the current window manager, try "--replace"

** (xfwm4:1767): WARNING **: Another Window Manager is already running
