i have the same issue on my HP mini 311. i check with 10.04 beta 1 problemis
still presents on it. touchpad is detected as
"ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse" id=8 [XExtensionPointer]
Type is MOUSE
Num_buttons is 7
