I can not reproduce in gqview 2.0.4-5 in Ubuntu Karmic on i386 platform.
Furthermore gqview has been replaced with geeqie in lucid.
Can you test whether this problem still occurs with geeqie? Its already
available next to gqview since Intrepid.
