status incomplete
Direct rendering is no longer a useful heuristic for determining whether
3D acceleration is available; since Jaunty, the mesa software renderer
has been capable of direct rendering.
The nouveau drivers in Lucid do not include any 3D acceleration, so
compiz should just fail to start for you. I'd guess that you're
actually using the binary nvidia drivers.
Could you please run “apport-collect 545015” from a terminal? This will
attach the logs we need to push it to the correct place.
