For convenience's sake, the workaround mentioned in bug #519250 has you add the 
following line:
<code><dllmap dll="libgobject-2.0.dll" target="libgobject-2.0.so.0"/></code> to 
the top of /etc/mono/config.

I can confirm that on Ubuntu 9.10 ("Karmic") with tangerine version
0.3.2.2-1, this fixes the problem.
