I wanted to report a similar bug, but i think this must be the same thing.
What I experience is: open synaptic, filter the list by "status" (ie.
installed, not installed, etc.) and "installed". i see a list of all installed
packages, but unsorted (or not sorted by the package name, to say the least)
when i click on the "package name" column header, it sorts the list
alphabetically, but then loses the "status" filtering, so i'll see a list of
all packages, sorted...
also quick search doesn't work.
this is ubuntu 9.10 x64 upgraded all the way from 7.04 x64.
