hciconfig showed the adapter was down
hciconfig
hci0: Type: USB
BD Address: 00:1D:60:4D:25:B2 ACL MTU: 384:8 SCO MTU: 64:8
DOWN
^^^^
The command "sudo hciconfig hci0 up" fixed that.
I'm happy this is fixed.
