In Jaunty (9.04) the Configation button has disappeared in system > administration > networking tools > Devices > Configuration so no: there cannot be any problems with that anymore in jaunty.
With "Edit Connections" in NetworkManager Applet 0.7.0.100 I have not experienced these problems.
