Still not sure how to delete old messages? Is this something that happens on ever start. I know that refreshing it doesn't clear them and I am sure that closing and reopening doesn't as well. To load that many posts makes Gwibber slow. I also have no way of seeing the upstream bug, can you point me to it if it shows a response for what I'm looking for
