Confirmed using a fully updated lucid i386 installation.
Note: I can only reproduce the problem if I actually run one of the
openoffice applications e.g. writer before attempting a restart.
After opening and closing writer I cannot restart Ubuntu using the
indicator-session applet without first closing the openoffice quickstart
applet.
I can restart ubuntu from a terminal with : sudo shutdown -r now
