Binary package hint: cups-pdf
PDF Files created by cups-pdf do not contain text information anymore.
This has serious implications. Indexing applications like beagle or
tracker, cannot index cups-pdf created pdf-documents.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Print a page for (for example the current page in your browser) with cups
pdf.
2. Try to extract text, for example with the pdftotext tool. Or try indexing
with beagle/tracker
pdftotext will not extract any meaningful text, and cups-pdf created documents
are omitted in beagle search results.
This seems to be related to Bug. #49498. The evince document reader
cannot copy and paste text out of these documents either.
