** Summary changed: - default video output is xmga + gmplayer does not fall back to other vo modules if the first one fails
** Description changed: - on 2 installs i've done in the past 2 days (yesterday and today), after - installing and apt-get'ing mplayer, it willnot play by default until I - change teh video output setting from xmga (Matrox) to something regular - like xv or x11. it used to default to this. This happened on 2 completel - diffrent systems, with diffrent video hardware (incase tehres some sort - of auto detect or something) + + gmplayer fails to play a video file in a default configuration, as xmga is selected as the default video out device, and autodetect fails to work. As a result, errors are shown and the video does not play. + + The command-line mplayer will, however, correctly autodetect a suitable + video out (vo) and play the same video file in a default install. + + This happens on a new install, with no config file present in + ~/.mplayer. If the preferences are changed, and the video out is set to + xv, x11 or another suitable for the system, the file will play. ** Bug watch added: Mplayer Bugzilla #1044 http://bugzilla.mplayerhq.hu/show_bug.cgi?id=1044 ** Also affects: mplayer via http://bugzilla.mplayerhq.hu/show_bug.cgi?id=1044 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Changed in: mplayer (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Triaged -- gmplayer does not fall back to other vo modules if the first one fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/65165 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
