For the error in the game, notify the developers. Ubuntu can only support software included in the official repository.
As for what happened after you pressed ctrl-alt-F2, you switched to virtual terminal 2. See wikipedia [1] for an explanation of what virtual terminals are, but you basically want to stay in the default of virtual terminal 7 unless you know your way around the command line. Just curious, but why did you press that key combination anyway?
