Public bug reported:

I installed Lucid beta 1 in VirtualBox 3.1, upgraded, installed a few
additional packages, installed Guest Additions and added an entry for a
shared folder to fstab; now it won't boot and there is no option to
recover. I get the attached screen, ending with error messages:

/sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: no such device
mountall: mount /media/shared [446] terminated with status 1
mountall: Filesystem could not be mounted: /media/shared
init: plymouth main process (176) killed by SEGV signal

     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
