** Description changed: My laptop is Compaq Presario CQ61-315EC. Both in Ubuntu 9.10 (with manually modified /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf) and Ubuntu 10.04 Alpha 2 (out of the box) the sound works OK. But during the reboot from Ubuntu (just when the computer is actually rebooting, maybe a second before that), I can hear a loudy crackling sound coming from built-in spekers. It lasts for about one second. When the laptop is only shutting down, only starting up, or when rebooting from Windows, there is no such crackle. If I turn off the device in Ubuntu through Sound Preferences / Hardware / Profile = Off, I can not hear that crackling sound. So I think the sound card is not turned off properly by default. The output from alsa-info script is in the attachment. + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21. + Architecture: amd64 + ArecordDevices: + **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** + card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog] + Subdevices: 1/1 + Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: matus 1255 F.... pulseaudio + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'Intel'/'HDA Intel at 0xd4500000 irq 22' + Mixer name : 'Intel G45 DEVCTG' + Components : 'HDA:111d7608,103c3069,00100202 HDA:80862802,80860101,00100000' + Controls : 17 + Simple ctrls : 9 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Beta amd64 (20100318) + Package: alsa-base 1.0.22.1+dfsg-0ubuntu3 + PackageArchitecture: all + ProcEnviron: + LANG=sk_SK.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-17.26-generic 2.6.32.10+drm33.1 + Tags: lucid + Uname: Linux 2.6.32-17-generic x86_64 + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare ** Attachment added: "AlsaDevices.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/42326148/AlsaDevices.txt -- Crackling sound during reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/515988 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
