command line (run as user xxxx):
su -c 'Xvnc -query localhost -once -geometry 1280x1024 -rfbauth
/home/xxxx/.vnc/passwd :2' xxxx
windows (XP) vncviewer - tried tightvnc, ultravnc and the original vnc4,
all same behaviour give or take a few seconds/clicks
repeat by
fire up Xvnc as above
fire up your vncviewer and connect (vnc authentication required)
login with gdm
run four in a row from the applications/games menu
see how many counters you can place before the server exits
package versions should have been collected by ubuntu-bug
FWIW
had same problem with 9.10 with tightvnc and vnc4 servers
9.10 tightvnc seemed more robust than vnc4
upgrade to 10.4 beta does not seem to fix
