perhaps there is a ppa i can try to eliminate the issue in lucid? i am using lucid and i still have the problem, even after todays updates.. i believe they didn't include an update on evolution..
using Evolution 2.28.3 here.. @sebastien: are you using a newer version of evolution? i also updated the bug description for better reproduction of the issue it's not a terrible problem, but definitely a small one to solve as far as i can imagine.. if you know the responsible script file from the top of your head i can try fix it myself and report back .. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: evolution evolution's integration into the indicator applet is a welcome step, as everyone i ask agrees. - problem is: when i choose "mail" from the indicator applet drop-down menu, it opens the overall window of evolution, regardless whether there is already an open evolution window for e.g. "contacts" or "tasks". + problem is: when i choose "mail" from the indicator applet drop-down menu, it opens the overall window of evolution, regardless whether there already is an open evolution window for e.g. "contacts" or "tasks". - more confusing is the fact that, considering "contacts" and "chat" share - the same drop-down menu column, selecting "contacts" does not reveal the - chat contacts. this is inconsistent with what that menu entry is - currently indicating to the intuitively navigating user.. + reproduce: + 1. click the envelope (indicator applet icon for messaging services + 2. select "mail" + 3. wait until evolution opens + 4. click the envelope again + 5. select "contacts" - solution could be, adding support for importing contacts from the chat app. - pidgin-contacts are already suported - system wide contact sharing for authorized applications would be the next step as proposed by the people-project, if the name "contact list" above empathy's contact list should not confuse the user. + i'm using ubuntu lucid beta, upgraded from karmic -- indicator applet opens multiple windows for "contacts" and "mail" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550830 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
