Same problem in Karmic, Firefox 3.5.8. When the glitch happens, sometimes you can see that another button in the Firefox menu bars is blinking like the cursor. As if Firefox thought the cursor was at 2 different places.
The way to reproduce the bug above doesn't work for me.
