Reassigning to plymouth, which provides the entry field and processes
the keypresses.
Unfortunately, I have to say that I'm unable to reproduce this here, so
this may take a while to get to the bottom of.
Can you please show the output of 'ls -l
/lib/plymouth/themes/default.plymouth'? If you install another
plymouth-theme-* package (e.g., plymouth-theme-spinfinity) and boot with
'plymouth:splash=spinfinity' (*not* recommended for normal use - the
upstream plymouth themes will not integrate with mountall in Ubuntu), do
you see the same problem of missing keypresses?
