Ok; that bug is now fixed, so if that's the only crash you have, you have nothing to worry about - just upgrade to the current package versions and you should be ok.
Likewise, if you are seeing the text theme *only* when using the nvidia driver, this implies that you have not upgraded plymouth and are still using the version that was included in beta1. If you upgrade to plymouth 0.8.1, this should be resolved.
