A workaround works (from http://mark-dudley.blogspot.com/2009/05/tightvnc-keyboard-mapping-problem-in.html) disable the keyboard plugin of the gnome-settings-daemon using gconf-editor: /apps/gnome_settings_daemon/plugins/keyboard set active to False.
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vino/+bug/112955/comments/31) Obviously if you are trying to do this with a messed up terminal, you won't be able to. The fix for that is to enable gconf editor by right clicking on Applications > Edit Menus and enabling "Configuration Editor" under "System Tools" then you can do everything with mouse clicks Related bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vino/+bug/112955 -- tightvncserver is unusable because the keyboard mapping is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/494361 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
